Founded in 2004 by Kwesi Koomson, Esiam Heritage Academy is a co-educational primary and junior high day school located in Koomson's home village of Breman Esiam in the Central Region of Ghana. Heritage Academy grew from 32 to 450 students in three years, and in July 2007, the first class had a 97% pass rate on the national exams. The classes of 2008 and 2009 scored a 100% pass on the national exams. The Schoerke Foundation offers scholarships to Heritage students and others in the district based on merit and financial need. In the summer of 2010 the Foundation will award three grants to American high school students to participate in a three-week program held at Heritage Academy for all the scholarship students in Ghana.
